My new EP, Nous, is now streaming everywhere. Vinyl and digital formats are available on my Bandcamp.

Nous contains my oldest composition, “Hide”, and my most recently finished song, the title track, so this collection of meditations on various forms of love covers a lot of emotional ground in its short runtime.

I traveled to Lafayette, LA with my band to record Nous with Chad Viator over one weekend in May. The sessions were bright and easy, and fit between breaks for poboys, boudin, and ice cream. I couldn’t have been happier with the process or the results. I  chose a self-portrait for the cover.

I plan to resume recording next spring. Until then, I hope you enjoy Nous and that we see you out at a show soon.

Credits: Vocal and nylon string guitar, Sarah Burke. Rickenbacker bass, Ryan DeJean. Percussion and cymbals, Stephen Nelson. Recorded and mixed by Chad Viator. Mastered by Aaron Thomas. Co-produced by Chad and Ryan. All songs by Sarah Burke. Thank you.

“Run” is a demo of one of my harp songs recorded at home in 2016.

I recorded this in one take on my phone on a hazy afternoon, and then a little while later John Tulley took it and made it sound so much nicer.

In the fall of 2022, Baton Rouge-based Spiral Caster invited me to participate in an episode of their ongoing series, Let’s Make Some Noise. We took my song "New Orleans” through their experimental process and created this fun, alternate version.
